Asharu Priestess honoring her heritage in the Necronomicon Tradition, but with the Oracle of Enheduanna

Asharu Priestess honoring her heritage in the Necronomicon Tradition, but with the Oracle of Enheduanna

Peace and Blessings:

I would like to take this time to send out my warmest greetings to our membership and Initiates of the Tradition. many of you may have noticed a few changes in some of the wording on the blog page, and have noted that the words “necronomicon tradition” no longer appear in the description of the page.

Over the past few months our administration team has noted the usefulness of the Simon Necronomicon and the rites of self-initiation contained therein. However, we feel, also that it would be limiting to just stop at the process of initiation and the tool used for this. You may have also noticed that in recent months many of our discussions and articles, are geared towards the modern use of ancient Mesopotamian mythology as a spiritual path.

During the month of April 2012, and beyond, the focus of this page will be the modern adaptation of ancient Mesopotamian mythology and its spiritual value today. We will still include discussion on the process of initiation through use of the Simon Necronomicon and the rites contained therein. However, the canon of sacred texts of our Tradition will be expanded with the release of the Oracle of Enheduanna.

The Oracle of Enheduanna is the oldest known grimoire in the world, dating back some 3,000 years. It features many of the popular ancient Mesopotamian mythologies, but also hosts a great deal of mystical and meditative practices.

This mystical text will include a commentary by Warlock Asylum with additional editing by StarIntelligence, Nightcaller, and Ben McGinnis. Fortunately, this text will also answer some questions that has puzzled anthropologists and archeologists in the field of ancient Mesopotamian studies, as well as, expand upon the practices that are found in the Simon Necronomicon.

Proper use of the Oracle of Enheduanna and its mystical value will be expanded upon in our future articles, once the book becomes available to the public.

Another important aspect of our Tradition is The Asharu Tradition forum. A lot of future content and discussion will be found in the forum, so feel free to join the forum today. In an effort to emphasize the importance of forum use, Papers In the Attic, this blog page, will become a weekly magazine, then bi-monthly. this will begin shortly after the retrograde of Mercury, April 3rd.

Some of our readers have wondered; what is the many of the Asharu Tradition? We will be providing a FAQ within the next two weeks, but for now, the term Asharu can be found in the Enuma Elish. One definition of the term Asharu would be one “Who directs the decrees of Anu, Bel, and Ea.” This definition applies to Initiates of our Tradition, in a mystical, magical, and practical aspect.

We look forward to this upcoming year of change and evolution for all Gate-Walkers on the Path.

Enjoy Life,

Simon Magus
