Greetings! i would like to welcome everyone to the Art of Ninzuwu blog page. If this is your first time here, please take the opportunity to review some of our previous articles and do not hesitate in sharing your experiences and insights by posting a comment. Have a blessed day!

This article is the first in a series of discussions that focus understanding Ninzuwu History and Philosophy. Much of the information, here is discussed in finer detail at the Shrine of Ninzuwu. Thank you for your support in this regard.

“Beyond the stars, beyond the darkness of the night they dwell. Into the realm of light they reside in stillness. Without need of the elements, for what is it? It is consciousness. The mere reflection of this statement caused that which is self-aware to stare at itself in darkness. Yet, it remains whole.”

These are the opening words of the text known as The Ivory Tablets of the Crow. The text and Ninzuwu History begins with the section entitled, The Birth of the Crow. The Birth of the Crow is a universal process. It is simply recognizing the divine seed of consciousness within ourselves.  This “divine spark” is known by many names among many nations, but essentially it is the same description of the quality of the creative source that exits within us. In the Art of Ninzuwu, this “divine spark” of consciousness is known as The Crow. We will discuss this more in detail as we move on in our discussion, but first let us talk about the divine nature residing within us.

When we look out into the phenomenal world we see that everything around us changes. Everything is happening to us. The body that we had as an infant we no longer possess. When we become teenagers we are living in a completely new body, different from the one we had as an infant. Every cell in our body has been replaced. It has been long theorized by modern science that the human body renews itself every seven years.  This process is examined in an online article entitled, Every Seven Years You Change.

Life is changing all around us. What is here today will eventually pass. Our emotional states are changing from one moment to the next. Our perception of life is shaped by experiences that “happen” to us. This process occurs also in animal, mineral, and plant life. It is the same with the celestial bodies existing in heaven.

While we are all witnesses to the changes that occur in the phenomenal world, including our emotional and physical bodies, we are not the cause of these changes. The body we possess today is different from the body we had as an infant.  A boy at the age of twelve years old did not consciously will himself into his present body as a child. These changes occurred through invisible processes that occur in time, and it is for this reason that the ancient spiritual teachings stated that “man is asleep.” He is not in control of the processes that shape and mold his environment or even the physical body that is a vital part of what he claims to be his existence. Man is unable to “do” anything on his own accord. He is asleep. The only way that man can change this condition is to awaken.

Ancient teachings, of various esoteric schools, describe a process of transformation that can allow one to “do” amidst the changes occurring in the phenomenal world.  Under the topic, Divine Spark, Wikipedia reports:

“The idea, most common to Gnosticism but also present in most Western Mystical Traditions such as Kabbalah and Sufism that all of mankind contains within itself the Divine Spark of God which is contained or imprisoned in the body…In these cosmologies the purpose of life is to enable the Divine Spark to be released from its captivity in matter and reestablish its connection with or simply return to God who is perceived as being the source of the Divine Light.”

Both Parmenides and Plato said what is real does not change. While we witness the changes that occur in the emotional, mental, and phenomenal worlds, there is a divine spark within in us that does not change and is not influenced by the elements.  It is the true “I.” What is real does not change.  So we find it is stated in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow:

“Into the realm of light they reside in stillness. Without need of the elements, for what is it? It is consciousness.”

Man can awaken from his sleep by nurturing the divine spark within, focusing on its growth and allowing that to become the predominant part of his being. The Ivory Tablet of the Crow describes this divine spark as “the realm of light they reside in stillness.” The stillness described here means that which is not corrupted by the changes occurring in the phenomenal world, the world of the elements.

This divine spark has been noted by many names. Among the ancient Mesopotamians, this divine spark was noted as the “power of Anu.”  Many Christian mystics associate this divine spark with the Christ. In other religious and spiritual paradigms different names are given, but the ancient teachings are still the same in regard to the nurturing of this divine quality.

The Art of Ninzuwu is a set of esoteric teachings that focuses on the process of awakening and nurturing of this divine spark.  Let us look at the first passage in the text once again:

Beyond the stars, beyond the darkness of the night they dwell. Into the realm of light they reside in stillness. Without need of the elements, for what is it? It is consciousness. The mere reflection of this statement caused that which is self-aware to stare at itself in darkness. Yet, it remains whole.”

The Ivory Tablets of the Crow is a very deep esoteric practice that cannot be learned or understood by simply reading the text, but through practice. Here we find that the cited passage corresponds to the first Vasuh letter Zhee. The text describes Zhee as follows:

It is the first letter appearing in the Vasuh language. It means light of the goddess. Pronounced eehzz.”

Different than Western Esoteric teachings, Ninzuwu Philosophy dictates that nurturing this divine spark begins with following the Ways of Heaven and Earth in accordance with cultivation of the Yin and Yang energies. The Ivory Tablets states:

“The mere reflection of this statement caused that which is self-aware to stare at itself in darkness. Yet, it remains whole.”

In the above passage uses the term “remains whole,” revealing something a unified quality that can be perceived by those living in the world of duality as separate. Zhee in simple gematria adds up to 44, or Hmu-Hmu. In The Armor of Amaterasu Ohkami we read:

“Hmu-Hmu represents the Yin and Yang principles. Through this unification one leaves the world of duality and enters fourth dimensional consciousness. The “Gateway of Fourth Dimensional Consciousness” is held by Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto.

Each Vasuh letter represents a parable, star, and universe. In the Vasuh letter Zhee, we see not only the story of the origin of this universe, but also that of Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto. Z equals Aum-Phe (26). In this case, Aum-Phe represents Aum, which carries the power of the first symbol, and Phe, a symbol of the art of levitation and the emotional quality of an object. Aum is invoking the “emotional” quality of the first letter in Phe, the sixth letter. Just what sort of emotional energy is being invoked in this case?

When we add Aum (2) and Phe (6) together, we get Lewhu (8). This reveals to us that it is the emotional quality of the stars that is being invoked, as Lewhu represents the “initiatory aspects of the divine energies of the stars.” Here we see that in the first letter of Zhee, Z (Aum-Phe), an emotional attunement to the starry energies takes place. The next letter, H, or Lewhu, which is the eighth letter, does indeed initiate us into understanding the divine language of the stars once we have tuned into its emotional state. Lewhu also represents the use of the Yi Jing, as the number eight is sacred for it represents the foundation, the Bagua.”

Earlier in the Armor of Amaterasu Ohkami it states:

“Zhee is equal to Hmu-Hmu. (26 + 8 + 5 + 5 = 44) The co-mingling of Heaven and Earth is covered for us in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow:

Quf agreed with what the fiery ones had spoken concerning the creation of a world that exits in time. He went down to the River of Shadows and dipped his finger in the Egu. With one drop of water he created a dimension that rested between the worlds of death and immortality.”

Quf is the same vibration as Zhee.  (17 + 21 + 6 = 44) In an article appearing in the Cult of Nyarzir’s blog page, we read:

“In Ninzuwu-Shinto mythology, the creation of this universe was planned by the “fiery ones.” Hence they called upon a scientist named “Quf,” in order to complete the task. This entity “Quf” has many correspondences in Ninzuwu-Shinto cosmology. We can determine its place here by use of the Vasuh (Tengu) language.”

We should also remember that the Vasuh letters are called the Footprints of the Crow, as they are tools of cultivation and useful to the work, but not the work itself. It is interesting to note how this is emphasized in the Tao Te Ching:

“The way that can be spoken of is not the constant way.”

Numerically, each Vasuh letter is a chapter in the Tao Te Ching. The point here, however, is that the practitioner of the Ninzuwu Arts recognizes a great value in the use of certain esoteric tools without identifying or idolizing them. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many occultists. Instead of focusing on the cultivation of the divine spark, they become lost in the lust of power, making alliances and pacts with the same elements are the cause of decay and disease. Manly P. Hall, in the book Magic: A Treatise on Esoteric Ethics, states:

“The true black magician can become (and usually is) clairvoyant, but he can never go any higher than the astral world. To this plane he is tied by his passions, hates, incantations, and the animal nature which is the basis of black magic.

The ancients claimed that there was a hierarchy of demons for each of the sins of man, and that in reality, the demons were, in most cases, the incarnated principles of these sins.  By this it is understood that the animal excesses of man build, on the lower planes of the astral world, strange creatures, some resembling debased human beings, and others shaped like animals, lizards, snakes, and other reptiles. The power of the black magician lies in his ability to direct these soulless creatures, which, while not in reality individualized things, still have tremendous power over their own essences, both in the body of nature and of individuals.

We seldom realize that our passions and hates create these demoniacal beings in the superphysical world, but this is one of the secrets of black magic. Every evil or debased thought and emotion of man helps to build these tearing, rending creatures, the innate qualities of which become, in the hands of those who know, agencies for the destruction of the powers of light….The black magician, becoming a conscious channel for these forces, launches a stream of hell-demons into the world. In so doing, he sells his own soul (for these forces must pass through his own astral body) in exchange for the powers that these demons will give him over his fellow man. The powers of these elementals creatures are practically unlimited, and there are many depraved souls who are glad to barter their immortal spirits for the power which these demons give them over the material world.”

The influence and the power of the black magicians has grown in recent times, though subtly. The vast majority of both the New Age and Occult Community are ignorantly influenced by a certain form of black magic that focuses on ancient ideologies and not the cultivation of the divine spark. Members of these communities are so well-trained by their deceivers that any sort of deviation from mainstream occult and new age theories is devalued by giving it the label “chaos magic,” when ultimately, by their erroneous definition of the term, every form of religion, mystical practice, magic, shamanism, and etc, all began as a form of chaos magic. It was channeled by an individual from some invisible force. Ideologies such as these are blindly followed by those who are ignorant of the fact that attempts are being made to institutionalize spiritual paradigms, and like modern science, anything that is outside the norm, which is not connected to a famous Western magician, or a spiritual system that is still being used though its true purpose is no longer understood, any revelation, or epiphany made in efforts of continuing the “gnosis” outside these boundaries, is now labeled as “chaos magic.” This is done to keep even the occult and new age community, if such a thing really exists, in the same box. Under the present circumstances Moses, Muhammad, Jesus, Buddha, and many others would be listed as chaos magicians, or someone who channeled a message from beyond by today’s standards.

Many who fall into this category can never understand that nurturance of the divine spark is not found in the mechanical actions of incantation, rituals, and etc. These hings are useful for understanding how everything is happening to us. It is not, however, nurturing the divine spark within ourselves. In the introduction of the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, it lists a legacy of several magicians who used magic, but were also engaged in the work of nurturing the inner-self. This is not an institution, or some religion. Anyone who makes the claim that there is only one way to know the divine within, is like saying that one race of people is superior of another.  Yet, in the world of Western Occultism we hear the names of the same magicians mentioned for reasons stated prior.  The Ivory Tablets of the Crow speaks about these things in its first passage:

The mere reflection of this statement caused that which is self-aware to stare at itself in darkness.”

The passage cited above refers to the dark mirror or Johuta the Mirror. In that section of the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, we read:

It is said that the true sons ..Do not commit to worship..But a meal between thee and the spirit ..Is the art of sacred things..There is much wisdom that can be gained..From a relative in this world..And in the Dream..Let the bond of Love..Be shared between these things..And do not worship that ..Which you do not know..Without Love..There is no faith..Without Love..There is no profit in faith”

While there is much wisdom that can be gained from holding communion with “spirits,” the true alchemist of the soul will still persevere in their nurturance of the divine quality within themselves. Many will look to discover some ancient method, ritual, or make pacts with spirits who will only keep the divine spark within us bound to the lower regions of the astral world. They will never realize that there is no “power-switch” in the work of the Greater Mysteries. Access to the divine reality cannot be encountered by the work of ritual or incantation, but  can only be achieved by working on oneself and not the machine. There is a big difference.  We can only enter this heavenly kingdom by the cultivation of love as the above passage indicates.

The Art of Ninzuwu is a mystical practice. We are not ceremonial magicians. Nor do we carry out rituals, as done in occult magic, in our tradition. Our work is often described as Esoteric Shinto and Yi Jing Sorcery. It is a mystical practice of the Shinto tradition. Shinto meaning the Way of the Divine, where we learn how to cultivate this divine spake within ourselves. The study of the unseen causes behind natural phenomena and how to employ changes in our own experience, is what we know as Yi Jing Sorcery.

We are not under the spell of ignorance and hold this belief that evidence of magical power is how well one can wield destructive forces against another. The true magic is the ability to do. Notice what is written in the last section of the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, entitled Testimony of the Crow:

There is no sense of reasoning with these feelings. I have seen them possess the body of the unwary, causing fits of anger and all sorts of hypocrisies. And the power these feelings have over the body of man cannot be put into words. But when the spirit is torn from the body these feelings act on their own accord and will haunt another house of flesh.

Know then that these feelings keep the spirit a prisoner in the house of flesh. They will make a blasphemy of the mind, so that the spirit becomes a worshipper of the same feelings that bind him. They often change into the shapes of gods and make the mind its disciple.

There are also the feelings that inspire men. These too act as his gods. They seek to free the spirit from its slavery, but it is confused because the mind worships a false god.”

It is amazing such depth in consideration of only the first three sentences in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow.The Shrine of Ninzuwu is always open to those who would like to sincerely learn about our practices, helping themselves and the community at large. In summary, let us remember the words of Manly P. Hall in the work, cited previously, Magic: A Treatise on Esoteric Ethics;

“Keep away from phenomenalism; there is nothing in it for the true student. He is not seeking to gain salvation through his eyes, but through his soul. Phenomenalism never appeals to the higher side of nature, but, at most, satisfies only inquisitiveness. As of old, so today, the cry is seldom “save souls,: but is usually “show us miracles.” ….In this day and age, the light must shine forth and the rulership of demons must be terminated. A large percentage of man’s spiritual, intellectual, and physical affairs are today in the hands of elementals—brainless creatures—and their masters, the black magicians, whose minds are dens of iniquity. Out of this world must come a few, who with hearts and souls undefiled,  will keep the light burning, that the powers of darkness shall not triumph.”

  1. The simple way to convey a powerful truth. As ones manifest thought forms of negative emotions creating idols so others absorb these to purify, but the cycle can’t be too demanding as it has been and thus balance shall be restored. Perfect article brother Messiah <3 / <3

  2. “The mere reflection of this statement caused that which is self-aware to stare at itself in darkness. Yet, it remains whole.” Very deep article

  3. Bro. That was a serious article. I see you referenced the great teachers of the Circle 7. A lot of the language of the article sounds like the Per em Heru. One of the concerns I have with that system is that the ancient library was plundered, so we don’t have the complete spiritual processes. Correct me if I’m wrong, but t appears The Art of Ninzuwu flows from the same fountain as Shetaut Neter? Anyway, I’m interested in learning more. Thank you for sharing the knowledge. I have some questions but I don’t want to bombard you right now. Would you mind if I send a question or two your way in the coming days? Peace.

    1. Thanks for you reply! We will start classes in January 2019. More info will be available soon
