Originally from the rural town of Oxford, North Carolina, hip-hop artist  James Cotten aka J-Killz in en route to becoming a household name. The proverbial rapper was born with the ambition of championing everything that he touches. Even his emcee name derives from the nickname “killa” he received during his state championship days of wrestling,  which was shortened to Killz, and the name J-Killz was born.

J-Killz started cultivating his lyrical expertise during high school and would later sign to Emprise Records where he released his first single Angel. Since this time, J-Killz has been keeping in tune with his entrepreneurial aims and performances. J-Killz has opened for such legendary acts as Young Jeezy, Young Dolph, MGK, Cassidy, and more.
