Interview With Artist and Actress Melissa Lianne Woods

Enchanting UK artist Melissa Lianne Woods has a distinctive knowledge and passion for her craft as an actress. Melissa has worked in both theatre and television. Her hard work and efforts are certainly paying off as her career continues to blossom. I had the honor of talking with Melissa and was able to gain some insights about her philosophy on the arts and life in general. I think you will enjoy the wisdom that she has shared!

Warlock Asylum: Before we begin, I would like to personally thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions. However, for our readers who may not be familiar with your work, please introduce yourself.

Melissa Lianne Woods: Hi. My name is Melissa and I am an actress from the UK. I am currently rehearsing for a play “Lust or Love” and I am excited to star in the upcoming series “Moriarty.”

Warlock Asylum: How has your life changed since starting a career in acting?

Melissa Lianne Woods: Even though I’ve acted from a young age, it was only recently that I made the decision to quit my ‘full-time’ job to pursue my dreams. I can honestly say from that point my life has been so much more enjoyable and rewarding. I literally wake up so excited for the day ahead.

Warlock Asylum: What other artistic pursuits outside of acting do you enjoy?

Melissa Lianne Woods: I love performing in general. From an early age, I’ve taken dance, singing and drama classes as well as learning the piano and violin. These are all interests that I’ve continued into adulthood and still enjoy now. I think it’s important to keep up hobbies and interests as you get older and to take regular time for yourself.

Warlock Asylum: How has your career as an artist affected your relationships with family and friends?

Melissa Lianne Woods: I think, seeing how people have supported me since quitting my job, has been amazing. Acting isn’t necessarily a career choice that people understand. I know a lot of my friends and family love stability, having a ‘9-to-5’ job and knowing where their income is coming from. Many of them still live in their hometowns. For me, I love traveling. I love new experiences and meeting new people. Acting is a great vehicle for that. But seeing how people been there for me every step of the way, through the good and the bad times, has made me realize just how fortunate I am, to have such amazing people in my life.

Warlock Asylum: What sort of music do you enjoy?

Melissa Lianne Woods: I absolutely love pop music and anything I can dance to. I’m going to see the ‘Spice Girls’ in a few weeks, in Manchester. It just reminds me of being a young girl and going to see them over 20 years ago.

Warlock Asylum: Who are some of your favorite musical artists?

Melissa Lianne Woods: Lyrically, I think Ed Sheeran is an amazing storyteller. He has got such a beautiful voice and his music is something that a lot of people can relate to. Of course, as a girl, I love Beyoncé. She epitomizes “girl power”. If I’m ever feeling low and need to be put in a good mood, I blast up Beyoncé, dance and sing along as loud as I can, and I instantly feel better

Warlock Asylum: Can you name a few of your favorite films?

Melissa Lianne Woods: My absolute favorite film is “My Cousin Vinny” starring ‘Joe Pesci’. I loved this film so much, I actually studied a law degree because of it. I also love the “Green Mile”. Without a doubt this film makes me cry, every single time I watch it. To laugh and generally feel better, I love anything with ‘Melissa McCarthy.’ If I had a dinner party, where I could invite any celebrity, past or present, ‘Melissa McCarthy’ would definitely be on the list.

Warlock Asylum: What is your idea of a romantic evening?

Melissa Lianne Woods: My idea of a romantic evening would be taking a walk outside, somewhere where the scenery is beautiful, like the beach or out in the countryside. Have a picnic, watching the sunset and cuddling up together under the stars.

Warlock Asylum: Can you sum up your philosophy of life in a few simple statements?

Melissa Lianne Woods: I think my life has changed so much in the past few years. I had quite a traumatic year, where a lot of things happened which made me realize how short and precious life is. I hadn’t been happy with my life for a long time, so I quit my job to follow my dreams. I stopped worrying about what would happen if things went wrong and focused more on what could happen if they went right.

Warlock Asylum: How can our readers stay abreast with any upcoming shows or events that you may be involved in? Any final thoughts?

Melissa Lianne Woods: I have a personal website where all my latest projects are listed, as well as the links to all of my social media accounts. I am in the process of moving to LA, which as an actor is a dream come true, so I would like to take this time to say thank you so much to everyone for their support and WATCH THIS SPACE!

I would like to thank you again for sharing your perspective and wise words with our readers and myself. I’ve certainly have learned a few things and find your ambition to be very inspirational. Wishing you all the best in your earthly and spiritual endeavors. Blessings!
