The multi-talented director, songwriter, producer, reality cast member, dancer and a singer Tanay Jackson is equally praised for her inventive work as an artist and the controversy she has stirred as a member of legendary Jackson family. She is the daughter of Tito Jackson. Despite the fame and prosperity that the “Jackson” name has accumulated, Tanay remains resolved in going about doing her music without their aid.

Recently, I had the honor of speaking with Tanay about her new song Fabulous, which is the musical diva’s first release in the past four years, among other things. I think you will find Tanay’s perspective on life and art positive and inspiring. Enjoy!

Warlock Asylum: Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions and share some fascinating insights about your career and perspective on life. However, for some of our readers who may not be familiar with your work, please introduce yourself. Who is Tanay Jackson?

Tanay Jackson: Well, Tanay Jackson is a popular music artist that has gotten major press. My music, in my opinion, is fun and creative. Music and entertainment is my life.

Warlock Asylum: Congratulations on your new song Fabulous. Can you tell us a little bit about the track and what it took to put together?

Tanay Jackson: It was absolute hell putting it together because I had to find a new team. The cooperation from others was jagged and it drove me crazy. My new single is just about feeling fabulous. It’s a reggae crossover tune. It’s something different for me and my fans didn’t expect it.

Warlock Asylum: Fabulous marks your first music release in the past four years. Was there any particular reason why you took time off?

Tanay Jackson: Yes. I had to find myself and rearrange things. I was being attacked and I had to see where the root of the problem was. Now that I know what I know, I’m continuing my craft.

Warlock Asylum: Does your new single Fabulous mark Tanay Jackson’s reinvention as an artist?

Tanay Jackson: Not really, it’s just a continuation of Tanay Jackson.

Warlock Asylum: When people think of the name Tanay Jackson the controversial reality show that featured 3T and Tito Jackson often come to mind. How did that show affect your work as an artist and other relationships?

Tanay Jackson: It hindered it. They wanted to shut me up after it happened. They didn’t want me to share my side, which is unfair. I’m entitled to freedom of speech. They wanted people to dislike and abuse me. They encouraged people to disrespect me the way that they disrespect each other. There were so many people involving themselves in the matter that had no right to and giving information with no proof. They fed people a story and they ate it without seeing con artist loopholes in the situation.

Warlock Asylum: Do you plan on doing any future work shows with Tito or 3T?

Tanay Jackson: HELL NO!!!!! I don’t wish to be around negativity. If our relationship doesn’t heal, then I will just have to love them from afar. They don’t mean me any good and don’t need for them to bring their dysfunction around me. They only want to bring me corruption. As far as working with them, they made it obvious that they’re jealous of my talent and don’t wish me well. Janet and Michael knew when it came to the business to stay away from them.

Warlock Asylum: At this stage in your life and career, what are some of the valuable lessons that you have learned about the entertainment business and people?

Tanay Jackson: That you have no friends in this business. It’s a rough business and you have to have tough skin. You have to be made for this. Men dominate the business and women get it kind of rough. Even with those odds, I still love the challenge.

Warlock Asylum: What can fans of Tanay Jackson expect to see in the near future? Any upcoming projects you would like to share?

Tanay Jackson: Working on it now. I will keep you posted.

Warlock Asylum: I would like to thank you once again for sharing some of your insights with us. What advice would you like to share with your readers? Any final thoughts.

Tanay Jackson: Positivity wins always. Stay focus and always feel fabulous!!!!
