Originating from Bradford, UK, singer, and songwriter Asher Knight adds another gem to his emerging career with the release of his debut EP titled Step Back. Knight’s discovered his passion for music at 16 and was somewhat reluctant to pursue his dream due to low self-esteem as a result of bullying early in his youth. Knight’s career has since blossomed and his success is toasted by a growing catalog of songs, performing in soldout arenas, along with the experience of working with writing greats including Cuttfather, Mark Owen, Jon Maguire, Olly Murs, James Blunt and more, as well as producers including Red Triangle, AC Burrell and more.

1-Step Back: The EP begins with its title track, which turns out to be an invigorating romantic charm. Musically, Step Back totes some very crisp production featuring opening acoustic guitar strums, coupled with a great bassline and some riveting percussion. Knight offers a tremendous vocal, one that speaks with sincerity,
2-Letting Go: This song opens with a more cerebral pace. Notably, Letting Go begins with Knight casting a soulful delivery of chorale over the soft measures of the piano. The track has a nice pace as Knight is able to build much of the song’s atmosphere from the tune’s dramatic instrumentation. The hook is extremely catchy without losing any of its sophistication. The subject of Letting Go of a relationship never sounded so good.
3-The Night Belongs To You: A high strung melody that opens up with an exotic taste of classical guitar. Knight offers an upbeat perspective on love and good times by painting a picture in the mind of his audience with poetic prose and serenades of optimism.
4-Save Me From Myself: Knight concludes Step Back with an honest look into his heart and into his fears. The song definitely rings a chord with many of us who have faced such internal struggles and challenges. The melody is soft and draws influences from both classical and gospel. The tune makes crafty use of the piano and some invigorating synth sounds. Save Me From Myself expresses an inspirational quality found in the track’s momentum.
