Greetings! I would like to welcome everyone to Papers in the Attic blog page. if this is your first time here, please take this opportunity to look over some of our previous articles, and do not hesitate in sharing some of your insights by posting a comment. Thank you for visiting our page. Stay blessed.

It has been an interesting year so far. I would like to send my thanks and appreciation to all those who supported the release of the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, the translation of the Dup Shimati, or the Tablets of Destinies. While we have received a lot of positive support, we have also received some questions concerning the manuscript and many of the forces mentioned therein, and how to validate their authenticity and etc.

Questions like these are always entertaining and in finding the answers, we do learn something new. Much of the information in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow is based on a gematria that was used by a pre-Sumerian civilization that are only known by the name, The Cult of Nyarzir.

This means for one to truly understand the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, they must understand the importance of gematria, for this is even how the Simon Necronomicon was constructed. Many times people try to validate the material in the Simon tome, by means of historical research and etc. This approach is only 25% of what it takes to understand the Simon Necronomicon. In order to get a full grasp of the Necronomicon by Simon, it is essential that the Initiate has a grasp of gematria.

Gematria is the science of assigning a numerical value to a word, or phrase,  in the belief that words or phrases with identical numerical values bear some relation to each other. Gematria has a very huge place in traditional Judaic studies. However, the Initiate of the Necronomicon Tradition will find that much of the secrets contained in the Simon Necronomicon are based on English gematria.

English gematria has been around for quite some time. It is based on the old English alphabet of 24 letters. It is well-known and its use has been documented well back into the medieval period., but to an interesting turn some years ago. Dr. J.R. Church, in studying the number 666, developed a gematria system for the English alphabet based on the ancient Sumerian civilization’s method of calculating. The Sumerian system was based on a root of six as opposed to ten. It is believed that the Sumerian civilization is the most ancient after the Flood and their system of counting the very first after the Flood. The Sumerian system can still be seen in our use of the foot (12 inches = 2 x 6) and yard (36 inches = 6 x 6) and in our sexagesimal measurement of time (60 seconds, 60 minuets, 24 hours = 4 x 6).

Since English gematria is based on the Sumerian numerical system, the Initiate can unlock many of the mysteries in the Simon tome. This could also be compared to the pre-Sumerian civilization, the Cult of Nyarzir, as they influenced the later Sumerian tribes. Let’s take a look at one example of this:

ADUENI appears in the Sumer Aryan Dictionary by L. A. Waddell. On page 6 of the said work we find the following:

“The Lady Queen-Seer Woman”

In other works by Waddell, he identifies ADUENI with the Goddess Athena. Interestingly, we find this phrase “adueni” in the Simon Necronomicon:

“Prepare, then the bowl of TIAMAT, the DUR of INDUR, the Lost Bowl, the Shattered Bowl of the Sages, summoning thereby the FIRIK of GID, and the Lady SHAKUGUKU, the Queen of the Cauldron. Recite the Conjuration IA ADU EN I over it, and build the Fire therein, calling GBL when thou dost, after his manner and form.”

Here we can see that ADUENI is an assigned conjuration, associated with the rites of Tiamat, but more importantly, it is preceded by “IA.” If we take the said term through the process of English gematria, we will discover one mystery, of many in the Simon Necronomicon:

Adueni has a value of 324 in English Gematria and 54 in Simple Gematria. (Simple Gematria is numbering a letter based on its place in the alphabet.) However, the meaning of ADUENI takes on a more important meaning when we add the prefix “IA” in front of the word:

Here we see that IAADUENI is equal to Tiamat, both have an English Gematric value of 384, and a Simple Gematric value of 64. This also verifies something quite amazing, for it shows a correlation with the I-Ching.

The I Ching, which is composed of 64 hexagrams, or six-line figures, 6 x 64 = 384, which is exceptionally close to the number of days in 13 lunar months (29.5306 x 13 = 383.8978), and that maybe the I Ching was originally an ancient Chinese calendar.

According to the sums we find in English and Gematria, we find the English and Simple Gematria. This actually verifies a connection between ancient Sumer and China, which actually validates H. P. Lovecraft’s description concerning the Cthulhu Cult, that was said to centered in Arabia with some immortals living in China. We may begin to see who Lovecraft was referring to:

Another example, can be seen in the history of the Mad Arab. Many people have wondered about the identity of the Mad Arab and this can found also through English Gematria. First let’s look at the definition of the Mad Arab in Enochian:

Enochian     English Meaning
Mad               God or Your God
Ar                                           That
Ab                 Daughter of Light

From the above Enochian translation, we can easily see that the term Mad Arab means Your God that Daughter of Light. It would seem that this definition would possibly imply that the Mad Arab, may just be the Watcher of the Simon Necronomicon, the existence of which was made real in another work by Simon entitled Dead Names, page 306.

The term Bandar, also have the same value as the Mad Arab! Interestingly, BAN is described in the Sumer Aryan Dictionary as “the child-creating goddess, Venus.” Dar is defined as King Dar, or Thor, King Adar, whom Waddell identifies as the first king of Sumer after the rule of the “aboriginal Chaldeans.”

Since the terms Bandar and Mad Arab have the same numerical value, it would seem that the Mad Arab is Inanna/Ishtar. Her example on this realm and the said rites are similar to how Jesus set an example for Christians. We can confirm the Mad Arab as Ishtar even from a Lovecraftian perspective:

Other comparisons also clear up a lot of the mysteries in the Necronomicon text. In the Table of Correspondences in the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction, we find:

The correlations are two numerous to mention in all, but I thought the reader would find this to be a very interesting comparison as well:

The values of Arzir are 432 and 72. These are the same as Aiwass:

Based on the English Gematria the terms Aiwaz and Asaru are relative to each other. If we remember, the Simon Necronomicon calls the “eye upon the throne,” Asaru.

The Ivory Tablets of the Crow

Now that we have discussed how the use of English Gematria, a science based on the Sumerian numerical system, has unlocked some of the mysteries of the Simon Necronomicon. we should now see the same with the pre-Sumerian Ivory Tablets of the Crow. In the Magan Text, we read the following:

“The verses here following come from the secret text of some of the priests of a cult which is all that is left of the Old Faith that existed before Babylon was built, and it was originally in their tongue, but I have put it into the Golden Speech of my country so that you may understand it.”

The ‘cult of the Old Faith’ is discussed heavily in the Atlantean Necronomicon,, which scholars normally describe as the Cult of the Dead, or ancestor worship. Yet, we find another interesting factor about the pre-Sumerian Cults in the Atlantean Necronomicon:

“Most of the ancient myths concerning Ereshkigal seem to imply that ERESHKIGAL left on her own free will. It seems that after Kur was struck, the Watchers battled alongside Kingu, but were defeated and became subject to the authority of the Elder Gods. Anzu birds were often depicted as deceptive in Sumerian legend because they were the original gods that had been made subject to the Elder Gods. This is similar to howMarduk was promoted as the head of the Babylonian pantheon by priests who saw the need to compose the Enuma Elish. Evidence of this can be seen in the myth of ISHTAR and the Huluppu Tree. This account describes the original occupants of the “tree” as Lilith (LAMASHTU), an Anzu Bird (PAZUZU), and the serpent. Legend has it that with the aid of Gilgamesh, ISHTAR was able to set up her throne in the Huluppu Tree, and Lilith, the Anzu Bird, and the “serpent” were forced to flee into the wilderness. Lilith is an archetype of the Atlantean Goddess, LAMASHTU.. The Huluppu Tree Myth reveals the primordial rites that existed before the advent of the solar gods, which Gilgamesh’s presence in the myth indicates.”

The Atlantean Necronomicon analyzes the Huluppu Tree Myth and reveals how an older rite existed in ancient times, much older than what we call the Elder Gods of today. In fact the gods involved in the rites were Pazuzu and Lamashtu. Barbara G. Walker in Women’s Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets:

“Lamashtu, “Mother of Gods” worshipped at Der as a serpent with a woman’s head.”

Walker states the following on page 904:

“The Akkadian Goddess NINHURSAG, “She Who Gives Life to the Dead,” was also called “Mistress of Serpents” as yet another form of Kadru or Kadi.Babylon’s version of her made her a dark twin of the Heaven-goddess ISHTAR, calling her Lamia or LAMASHTU ..Cylinder seals show her squatting, Kalilike, over her mate, the god PAZUZU, he of the serpent penis. As another Lord of Death, he gave himself up to be devoured by the Goddess.”

I am sure that many may wonder how does this information relate to the Ivory Tablets of the Crow. It is important in the fact that the promordial gods and goddesses, were sometimes seen as demons by the later Babylonians, who gave them titles that were somewhat derogatory. This can be scene in the example of Humwawa, who is defined as a monstrous beast, which is a derogatory description on the Elamite king Humban whose name means “master of heaven.” The Ivory Tablets of the Crow restores the proper vibration of these primordial deities as we will now see.

First let us define the Cult of Nyarzir, the ‘cult of the Old Faith that existed before Babylon was built:

Here we see the value of the primordial Atlantean god Pazuzu is 666. Now we know for sure that English Gematria was used when translating the Simon Necronomicon. In the Introduction, under the topic, The Horned Moon, we read:

“PAZUZU, the Beast, was brought to life by Aleister Crowley, and the Demon walked the Earth once more.”

The Beast has the number 666. This profound insight is discussed earlier in the Introduction of the Simon Necronomicon:

“When Crowley professed to have passed the obstacles, and crossed the Abyss of Knowledge, and found his true Self, he found it was identical with the Beast of the Book of Revelation, 666, whom Christianity considers to represent the Devil.”

So Crowley found he true self to be identical to the Beast, which in Horned Moon subtopic in the introduction is equated to Pazuzu. Pazuzu in English Gematria has the value of 666 and the Simple Gematric value of 111. Now we find that the Ivory Tablets of the Crow describe this pre-Sumerian ‘cult of the Old Faith’ as the Cult of Nyarzir:

Here we see that Pazuzu has the same value as the term Nyarzir, which is also 666, and 111. Therefore the Cult of Nyarzir is The Cult of Pazuzu.

Reflecting back on the information cited earlier in the Atlantean Necronomicon, we learned that Lamashtu was described by Walker as the “mother of the gods.” She was equated to Ninhursag and Ereshkigal, who are all said to roar, signs of a solar goddess:

We can see that both Ereshkigal and Lamashtu have the same numerical value. However it can also be said that this aspect of a primordial solar goddess can be found in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow. Johuta is described as a “daughter of heaven” and as a solar goddess in the Tablets’ lists of correspondences. Simon, editor of the Necronomicon, may have adjusted certain spelling to fit a more positive perspective of the goddess Lamashtu, for in the Urilia text she is described as Lamashta:

Based on the English Gematria, the Nyarzirian goddess Johuta, has a nature similar to Ishtar, but also of Lamashta. Another interesting find is in the Introduction of the Ivory Tablets:

“we find in their writings a story of a magician named Xuz,”

In the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction we find:

“THOTH in Coptic is the name given to the Egyptian God of Magick and Wisdom,”

This shows us that Xuz and Thoth were the same person, or class of priest, sorcerers, and etc. Yet, there true identity is revealed when we look further into the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction:

“TAHUTI, who was evoked by both the Golden Dawn and by Crowley himself (and known to the Greeks as Hermes, from whence we get “Hermetic”). AZAG-THOTH is, therefore, a Lord of Magicians, but of the “Black” magicians, or the sorcerers of the “Other Side”.”

The word Tahuti seems to be associated with “sorcerers of the “Other Side,” of Black Magicians. Let us see why:

Here we see that the terms Tahuti and Akhkharu have the same value in English Gematria and Simple Gematria, meaning that these Black magicians were like the Akhkharu. I would like to remind the reader that it is not a normal occurrence to find the same values in both English and Simple Gematria.

It seems that the mysticism of the Ivory Tablets seems to describe the world before that still exists in the divine realms. In explaining further, the Magan Text brings out something very interesting:

“He split the sundered TIAMAT in twain And fashioned the heavens and the earth,”

This portion of the Magan Text refers to the Battle between Marduk and Tiamat. Tiamat is spit in two, one part is used to create heaven, another part is used to create earth and man. Later in the Simon Necronomicon, we read:

“Know that TIAMAT seeks ever to rise to the stars, and when the Upper is united to the Lower, then a new Age will come of Earth, and the Serpent shall be made whole, and the Waters will be as One, when on high the heavens had not been named.”

This means that is some respects, metaphorically, the world is unnatural as divided, or our consciousness is divided. The Mad Arab writes:

“And a man may cry out, what have I don’t, and my generation that such evil shall befall me? And it mean nothing, save that a man, being born, is of sadness, for he is of the Blood of the Ancient Ones, but has the Spirit of the Elder Gods breathed into him. And his body goes to the Ancient Ones, but his mind is turned towards the Elder Gods, and this is the War which shall be always fought, unto the last generation of man; for the World is unnatural.”

One half of man’s consciousness hangs in heaven, and another upon earth in essence, we look today at only one-half of Tiamat. This is interesting for in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow it states:

“Beyond the stars, beyond the darkness of the night they dwell. Into the realm of light they reside in stillness.”

The Ivory Tablets refer a science existing before Tiamat was split in two. This would mean that Tiamat’s values would be doubled in the consciousness of unity.

384 x 2, 64 x 2, would equal a gematric formula of 768 and 128. These numbers would represent the unity of consciousness, when the “waters are one.” In the Ivory Tablets of the Crow’s Introduction, it states:

“Historical records reveal little about this cult who accredited their knowledge to the Ninzuwu, a race of beings that shared a “mystical technology” with early man.”

The Ivory Tablets of the Crow talk heavily about the Ninzuwu, it is a race and rank of the adept and those who oversee the work. The science of the Ninzuwu is from a perspective or “a time when the waters are one” This can be seen in the values that are given for the Ninzuwu, which are 768 and 128, double to that of Tiamat, showing that both sides of the whole are one in the state of Ninzuwu.

The amazing thing about all of this is that in the Simon Necronomicon, a slight variation in historical deities reveal a great numerical connection. In the case of the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, we see a complete mystical tradition that in no way could be made up, but appear to be the formulae for the Gate of Arzir, mention by the Mad Arab. Below are a few correspondences between the Simon Necronomicon and the Ivory Tablets of the Crow:

The idea of turning dead kings into gods, may have begun during the matriarchal period, when such was applied to dead queens and priestesses, sage women. The Ivory Tablets give a history of Shamhat, who may have been Hubur.

The Sons of Aho are described as deceivers of man in the Ivory Tablets. The numerical value is equal to Adar, who was described in the  writings of Waddell as one who stole the Stone Bowl from the aboriginal Chaldeans. The rest should be history.
