Brandon Jermaine Foster aka Prime 1 is one of the most avant-garde lyricists of rap music’s post-modern era. Based out of Los Angeles, California, Prime 1 grew up in a troubled household and was able to utilize his growing passion for music as a means for making a better life for himself and family. He started doing music at the age of 15 and having his gift birthed in the gospel rap industry. Prime 1 would later direct his energy towards mainstream rap music. As a real student and missionary of the hip-hop culture, he cites Tupac, Biggie, Ice Cube, Easy-E, Nas, Jay Z, Outkast, Wu-Tang, and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony as some of his greatest musical influences.
Prime 1 has performed at numerous venues throughout California, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. He has opened up for legendary acts like Too Short, Bone Thugs, and more specifically Bizzy Bone. Prime 1 is often noted for his distinct flow of rapid jargon. His “Love vs Hate Mixtape” Series and In The Element (full album) speak for themselves.
