Kalani Luana: Thank you so much for reaching out with such a wonderful opportunity! A little about me as said my name is Kalani Luana- I am a 22-year-old Puerto Rican/Filipina adult film actress originating from and residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. I have shot 10 professional scenes to date as well as smaller content with other up and coming adult talent and am currently represented by The VIP Connect Talent Agency. Aside from the adult industry, I am working towards my BA degrees in Business, Business Administration, & Psychology and am a small business owner of an online custom resin art shop, while also partnering with my sister running an online fashion boutique.
Warlock Asylum: How was life growing up? In what ways did your environment during your formative years shape the person that you are today?
Kalani Luana: I can admit life growing up wasn’t the easiest however it wasn’t a complete hell either. I was raised by teenage parents who lived unconventional lifestyles themselves and to an extent still do. With that being said, I did have to step up and play the role of a third parent to my 4 younger brothers at a young age which caused me to mature emotionally, intellectually, & instinctively at a quicker rate than some of the other children my age.
Thankfully, I can’t say my parents have ever placed me or my siblings in dangerous or inadequate environments. We’ve always lived in multi-story houses and attended good schools- outside of the racism & prejudice we occasionally had to face. Outside of my home life, I did endure multiple traumatic events through my prepubescent years that I can say definitely had an effect on the way I carry myself today- from your typical teenage heartbreaks to sexual assaults, losing close friends to death, and even legal issues which led me to be temporarily placed in a group home. All of these events, however, served a purpose in my life and have caused me to be more aware and knowledgeable when it comes to dealing with the world outside of being sheltered. In the end, I am blessed to still be here and am grateful for all I’ve experienced in life- good and bad; you have to learn to appreciate your struggles in order to truly grow from them.
Warlock Asylum: How did you get involved in adult entertainment?
Kalani Luana: A woman I was following on Instagram at the time by the name of Lydia Dupra had posted about open castings for a company she was in close relations with, so I reached out to her and after speaking over Facetime she sent me straight over to the producer to handle documentation and basically get a rundown of what I would be doing. Honestly, it was way easier of a process than I had anticipated and from there I shot my debut scene with NVG (NetVideoGirls.com) in October 2018, which still today holds the highest number of views out of all of my work.
Warlock Asylum: What were some of the obstacles that you had to overcome to make a career in adult entertainment possible?
Kalani Luana: I’m thankful to say I haven’t had too many issues as far as working and building a reputation in the industry; of course, I’m no household name (YET!) but I’m definitely more than happy with the progress I’ve made so far. I can say I’ve only had one negative experience since filming and it was more of a personal issue outside of the set, my scene still went well and brought the results I desired. My shoot boundaries I can admit have made it slightly difficult in terms of getting super consistent bookings, the main two being anal and surprisingly rimming which I guess is extremely common in porn these days? Luckily, there are plenty of companies who not only respect my limits but are more than willing to work around them, so all in all my obstacles are fairly minimal.
Warlock Asylum: How real is sex for you in front of the camera? Do you have to fake it?
Kalani Luana: For me, it really depends. Not all of my scenes have been faked, however in order for it to be “real” for me I have to be attracted to you at the very least (which I can admit I do have a preference and am pretty picky), and there has to be some sort of connection or vibe as we say – haha. Luckily, I consider myself to be a great actor, especially when it comes to sex, and I know my body enough to where I can make pretty much any encounter enjoyable for other parties. I can say I haven’t been called out for any of my “acting” scenes yet so I’d assume I’m doing something right!
Warlock Asylum: Do you have a preference when it comes to men and women or do you consider yourself bisexual?
Kalani Luana: I am DEFINITELY bisexual and prefer both sides for different reasons, I don’t think I could live without actual penetration from a man and I LOVE giving oral when it comes to them.
