Warlock Asylum: Greetings! This is certainly an honor and I would like to extend a warm note of thanks for answering a few questions for our readers. As an introduction, how would you describe A. A. Salter?
A. A. Salter: Thank you for allowing us this opportunity. To answer the question, I would describe myself as a big kid, into books and games of many different varieties.
Warlock Asylum: How was life during your formative years?
A. A. Salter: We did not have a tv growing up, so my formative years were spent with my nose in books vividly picturing their imaginary worlds, outside creating imaginary worlds to play in, or playing in an imaginary world in a video game.
Warlock Asylum: What inspired you to get involved in writing, and specifically within the arena of sci-fi literature?
A. A. Salter: I began reading young and this is one of the main things that gave me a desire to write. Just knowing that the authors had to create everything in the book, formed in me a wish to one day do the same thing. As for my love of sci-fi that started first when I came across a Choose Your Own Adventure sci-fi book. That book along with the next sci-fi book I read My Teacher is an Alien started my love for sci-fi. A series, Animorph’s, was also very influential.

Warlock Asylum: How did the book Seven: The Rescue come into being?
A. A. Salter: It was just an idea that came into being many years ago through a conversation we did not think much about at the time but also never forgot. It was a conversation that would come back up from time to time. Then many years later with some small amount of convincing the book was started.
Warlock Asylum: What are some of the principles found in the book’s theme that relate to practical life lessons?
A. A. Salter: The book to me portrays the value of family, whether blood family, a family you have created around yourself, or both.
Warlock Asylum: What were some of the things that you learned about your own psyche while writing Seven: The Rescue?
A. A. Salter: I have learned that I must control my procrastination, or it will control me.
Warlock Asylum: How has the feedback been on the book thus far?
A. A. Salter: Seems to be positive so far. Hopefully, that will continue. One of the most asked questions has been when the second book will come out, as we left on a cliffhanger. The answer is hopefully soon, it’s been written.
Warlock Asylum: Where can we expect to see A. A. Salter in the post-pandemic world? Any final thoughts?
A. A. Salter: Hopefully, somewhere besides my house, somewhere new and different. May that be sooner than later.
