Greetings!

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our readers and subscribers. If this is your first time here, please feel free to review some of our previous articles and do not hesitate to share your insights and thoughts by posting a comment. Stay blessed!

It is quite rewarding to be involved in the Asaru culture at this stage in its history. Quite a number of people over the past few months have made the decision to investigate the ancient Mesopotamian mysteries, and more importantly, the mysteries of life.

While critics may argue about the validity of the Simon Necronomicon and it initiatory structure, those who are willing to take the plunge and investigate the process of self-initiation described in the tome can easily attest to the reality of such. Many Initiates of our sacred path have seen miraculous results from the philosophy and rituals of the Asaru culture.

I must also comment that we really appreciate the support of our readership and our beloved staff of writers. Many of our writers have their own careers, families, and other personal interests, yet they have taken the time to out of their own personal schedules to assist others on this sacred path. All of you are deeply appreciated and we extend a warm blessing to you.

2012 was a year of many new things in the way of the Necronomicon Tradition. We saw the release of The Oracle of Enheduanna and the Asaru Lessons. This has brought about some rather interesting epiphanies for Initiates of this path. We have also seen the release of a digital theatre series entitled Warriors of the Necronomicon Tradition, which is based on real life practitioners and their experiences in fantasy form.

The release of these new tools has also sparked the interest of many who have come across the Simon Necronomicon and articles pertaining to such. It is with this in mind that we feel it necessary to clarify the purpose and meaning of this path.

First, it is important for the perspective Initiate to realize that initiation into the Necronomicon Tradition is an initiation into the Greater Mysteries. It is a very primal energy that is revealed in the workings of the Simon Necronomicon. The purpose in engaging in such is for personal transformation, something that is irreversible.

The powers attributed to various legendary magicians and shamans are indeed accessible on this path, but they in themselves are not the object of the path. This is also mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction:

“Man’s power to alter the nature of his environment must develop simultaneously with his ability to master his inner environment, his own mind his psyche, soul, spirit. Perhaps, then, the lunar landing was the first collective initiation for humanity, which will bring it one step closer to a beneficial Force that resides beyond the race of the “cruel celestial spirits”, past the Abyss of Knowledge. Yet, he must remember that the occult powers that accompany magickal attainment are ornamental only, indications of obstacles overcome on the Path to Perfection, and are not to be sought after in themselves, for therein lies the true Death.”

We can see from the tome’s Introduction that the Path of Perfection is actually the goal, a lifetime goal for the Initiate. It takes work, not only o find the path and obtain knowledge of it, but walk upon it. It is not a “graded” path built with titles for the fool-hearted and entertained mind, but one of discipline, love, and joy. It takes work to inculcate these qualities into our experience and being. A period of purging must constantly be attended to. It is only with a clean heart and mind that these primal energies can be effectively employed. It is here at this point that the Initiate must come to understand that this is not a path of Chaos Magick, or a form of magick that works only because “any effective mental tool can achieve results once believed in,” as some critics say so as not to find themselves in error by their previous hypothesis concerning the Simon Necronomicon and its workings. This is spoken about in The Book of Calling:

“Know, seventhly, of the Things thou art to expect in the commission of this Most sacred Magick. Study the symbols well, and do not be afraid of any awful spectre that shall invade thine operation, or haunt thine habitat by day or by night. Only charge them with them the words of the Covenant and they will do as you ask, of thou be strong. And if thou performest these operations often, thou shalt see things becoming dark; and the Wanderers in their Spheres shall no more be seen by thee; and the Stars in their places will lose their Light, and the Moon, NANNA, by whom thou also workest, shall become black and extinguished, ..AND ARATAGAR SHALL BE NO MORE, AND THE EARTH SHALL ABIDE NOT…And around thee shall appear the Flame, like Lightning flashing in all directions, and all things will appear amid thunders, and from the Cavities of the Earth will leap forth the ANNUNNAKI, Dog-Faced, and thou shalt bring them down.

The meaning of the above passage can be found in a commentary made by Thomas Stanley in 1661, concerning the Chaldean Oracles:

“Certainly out of the cavities of the Earth spring terrestrial Dogs;
Which show no true signe to mortal Man.” /

Sometimes to many initiated Persons there appear, whilst they are sacrificing, some

Apparitions in the shape of Doggs and several other figures. Now the Oracle saith, that these issue out of the Receptacles of the Earth, that is, out of the terresrial and mortal Body, and [43] the irrational Passions planted in it which are not yet sufficiently adorned with Reason, these are Apparitions of the passions of the Soul in performing divine Rites; meer appearances having no substance, and therefore not signifying any thing true.”

Based on the comparison of the two above passages, one appearing in the Simon Necronomicon and the other from its source found in the Chaldean Oracles, we can clearly see that the object of our work is to overcome the will of the flesh and its rule over our very being, so as to replace it with the divine fire. This does not mean that material gain and pleasure are to be ignored or forsaken. Simply put, we evolve past the point where we are ruled by such and work diligently to overcome these things for therein lies fatality and mortality. All what is matter changes in shape and form and the ideas which it holds must also pass. However, we find comfort in the Mad Arab’s words, “and thou shalt bring them down.” This means that the rite of the Elder Gods, a beneficial aspect of the Ancient Ones, is key in overcoming he debris of the soul.

Once we have walked the seven-initiatory gates we can know pursue virtue from an initiated perspective. Unfortunately, many have lost sight of such and seek some form of status by being committed to one side or the other, when no decision can be made about such until one understands the aforementioned point of overcoming the debris of the soul. It is in such work that we find the path of immortality. The Simon Necronomicon has as its goal the perfection of immortality. Another passage, taken from the Chaldean Oracles and mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon that is often misinterpreted, reveals this as well:

“Stoop not down, therefore,
Unto the Darkly Shining World
Where the ABSU lies in Dark Waters
And CUTHALU sleeps and dreams

Stoop not down, therefore,
For an Abyss lies beneath the World
Reached by a descending Ladder
That hath Seven Steps
Reached by a descending Pathway
That hath Seven Gates
And therein is established
The Throne
Of an Evil and Fatal Force.
For from the Cavities of the World
Leaps forth the Evil Demon
The Evil God
The Evil Genius
The Evil Ensnarer
The Evil Phantom
The Evil Devil
The Evil Larvae
Showing no true Signs
Unto mortal Man.
AND THE DEAD WILL RISE AND SMELL THE INCENSE!”

The above passage, appearing in the Magan Text, is taken from the Chaldean Oracles. In Thomas Stanley’s commentary, cited earlier, we find:

“Stoop not down, for a præcipice lies below on the Earth,
Drawing through the Ladder which hath seven steps; beneath which
Is the Throne of Necessity.” /

He calls the Descention into wickednesse, and misery, a Precipice; the Terrestrial and Mortasl Body, the Earth: for by the Earth he understands mortal Nature, as by the fire frequently the Divine; by the place with seven Wayes, he means Fate dependant on the Planets, beneath which there is seated a certain dire and unalterable Necessity: The Oracle therefore adviseth, that thou stoop not down towards the mortal Body, which being Subject only to the Fate, which proceeds from the Planets, may be reckon’d amongst those things which are at our Arbitrement: for thou wilt be unhappy if thou stoop down wholly to the Body, and unfortunate and continually failing of thy Desires, in regard of the Necessity which is annex’d to the Body.”

Based on Thomas Stanley’s commentary we find clarity about certain things concerning our Tradition. First we discover that this force existing below the Earth has a lot to do with the fate destined by the planets upon the body, fatality. We can also see that these forces are really shadow sides of the planets themselves. Stanley comments:

“The Oracle therefore adviseth, that thou stoop not down towards the mortal Body, which being Subject only to the Fate, which proceeds from the Planets, may be reckon’d amongst those things which are at our Arbitrement: for thou wilt be unhappy if thou stoop down wholly to the Body, and unfortunate and continually failing of thy Desires, in regard of the Necessity which is annex’d to the Body.”

This reveals that the realm of Ganzir is a mortal fate, and concerns such. We will discuss why DinGir Ishtar descended to this place shortly. The body’s ultimate fate is death, but the spirit and soul can be developed, created, as an ark of salvation and can be strengthened so as to not see death. These are the rights of the DinGir. The Mad Arab recalls this in the Second Testimony:

“Remember that the Essences of the Ancient Ones are in all things, but that the Essences of the Elder Gods are in all things that live, and this will prove of value to thee when the time comes.”

In other words, there is power in the workings of Ancient Ones, but this is not the purpose of those seeking immortality and perfection. However, there is a connection and treasure found in the realm of the Dead, the realm of Ereshkigal. For the Chaldean Oracles it mentions:

“In the side of sinister Hecate, there is a fountain of Virtue; Which remains entire within, not omitting her Virginity.”

In other words, at the root of the body, metaphorically Ganzir, there is a fountain, which is later identified in the Chaldean Oracles as fire:

“When thou seest a sacred fire without form, Shining flashingly through the Depths of the World, ..Hear the voice of Fire.”

This “fire” that is referred to in the Chaldean Oracles is the kundalini. It is ironic that the Chaldean Oracles mention “Hear the voice of Fire.” This corresponds to the “Call of Cthulhu” in the Necronomicon Mysteries. In the Urilia Text we read:

“Of all the Gods and Spirits of Abomination, KUTULU only cannot be summoned, for he is the Sleeping Lord. The magician can not hope to have any power over him, but he may be worshipped and for him the proper sacrifices may be made, so that he will spare thee when he rises to the earth. And the times for the sacrifice are the same times as the Sleeping of MARDUK, for this is when Great KUTULU moves. And he is the very Fire of the Earth, and Power of All Magick. When he joins with the Abominations of the Sky, TIAMAT will once more rule the earth!”

Many people read this passage in error and right away think that they should work with the rites in the Urilia Text only. This is an error of judgment. Notice what is mentioned in the above passage:

“Of all the Gods and spirits of Abomination..”

The “gods” referred to here are the Elder Gods. The “Spirits of Abominations” are the maskim and other monstrous entities. It seems appropriate to conclude that “Kutulu” hangs in the balance between the so-called opposing forces. In the rediscovery of Kutulu we will find another key in the Necronomicon Mysteries.

We are later told in the Urilia Text that Kutulu is the Fire of the Earth, and Power of All Magick. This relates to what we read in the Chaldean Oracles where we are told to hear the voice of the fire. Interestingly, in the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction we find the following concerning the spheres:

Table VII [A.C.]

Table XXV [S.]

0. . . . ANU (TIAMAT)
1. Sphere of the Primum Mobile ENLIL (ABSU)
2. Sphere of the Zodiac or Fixed Stars ENKI; LUMASHI (IGIGI)
If Enlil corresponds to the Primum Mobile, or first mover, the realm of Anu/Tiamat would correspond to the realm of the Empyrean. Wikipedia defines the Empyrean as follows:

“Empyrean, from the Medieval Latin empyreus, an adaptation of the Ancient Greekμπυρος empyrus “in or on the fire (pyr)”, properly Empyrean Heaven, is the place in the highest heaven, which in ancient cosmologies was supposed to be occupied by the element of fire (or aether in Aristotle‘s natural philosophy)…. The Empyrean was thus used as a name for the firmament, and in Christian literature, notably the Divine Comedy, for the dwelling-place of God, the blessed, celestial beings so divine they are made of pure light, and the source of light and creation.”

Here we see that the purpose of the Necronomicon tradition’s Mysteries and studies related to such, is to join the “Fire of the Earth” with its primordial realm of fire in heaven. In other words it is a work where the Initiate learns how to raise his/her kundalini.

Another interesting point that must be considered here is the identity of Kutulu. In previous articles we have determined that Kutulu is relates to the Watcher. For more information please read the following article:

http://warlockasyluminternationalnews.com/the-works-of-warlock-asylum/excerpt-from-the-atlantean-necronomicon-kutulu/

However, what is not generally known is an aspect of Kutulu that was often mentioned by the Mad Arab. We find the following in the SN’s Introduction:

“S.H. HOOKE, in his excellent Middle Eastern Mythology, tells us that the Leviathan mentioned in JOB, and elsewhere in the Old Testament, is the Hebrew name given to the Serpent TIAMAT, and reveals that there was in existence either a cult, or scattered individuals, who worshipped or called up the Serpent of the Sea, or Abyss. Indeed, the Hebrew word for Abyss that is found in GENESIS 1:2 is, Hooke tells us, tehom, which the majority of scholars take to be a survival of the name of the chaos-dragon TIAMAT or Leviathan that is identified closely with KUTULU or Cthulhu within the pages are mentioned independently of each other, indicating that somehow KUTULU is the male counterpart of TIAMAT, similar to ABSU.”

We see in the information cited above that Kutulu is relative to ABSU, a consort of Tiamat. However, what is not generally known is that ABSU is found in the Babylonian myths, but in the Sumerian paradigm Absu is known as the heavenly god Anu. The following website reveals his in a chart http://wigowsky.com/school/civilizations/NearEast/myth2.htm

Tiamat Mother Goddess, wife of Apsu, mother of Anshar and Kishar. (Sumerian counterpart is Nintu.)
Apsu Ruler of all the gods and husband and father as above. (Sumerian counterpart is Anu.)
This seems to add up. Earlier in our discussion we read where Kutulu, ‘of all the gods and spirits of abominations…” DinGir  Anu is noted to employ and have power over both good and evil forces. We even read the following in the Magan Text:

“THEY ARE THE CHILDREN
BORN OF EARTH
THAT IN THE CREATION
OF ANU WERE SPAWNED.”

Of course, the counterpart of DinGir Anu, as identified in an excerpt of the Atlantean Necronomicon is Namtar who has sway over these spirits. Kutulu is identified as being the “fire of the earth.” We learned earlier from the perspective of the Chaldean Oracles that the earth was a metaphor for the body. It would seem that if Absu, the modern Kutulu, represents the fire of the earth, this could be none of ther than the DNA, or fire of the body. We know that Apsu is only a counterpart of Tiamat. Based on such it is revealed with new clarity a passage from the SN’s Introduction:

“In the West, the conjuration, cultivation, or worship of this Power was strenuously opposes with the advent of the Solar, Monotheistic religions and those who clung to the Old Ways were effectively extinguished. The wholesale slaughter of those called “Witches” during the Inquisition is an example of this, as well as the solemn and twisted – that is to say, purposeless and unenlightened – celibacy that the Church espoused. For the orgone of Wilhelm Reich is just as much Leviathan as the Kundalini of Tantrick adepts, and the Power raised by the Witches. It has always, at least in the past two thousand years, been associated with occultism and essentially with Rites of Evil Magick, or the Forbidden Magick, of the Enemy, and of Satan. . . and the twisting, sacred Spiral formed by the Serpent of the Caduceus, and by the spinning of the galaxies, is also the same Leviathan as the Spiral of the biologists’ Code of Life : DNA.”

We can see from our discussion that the initiatory steps in the Necronomicon Tradition are designed to change our DNA. The light of this DNA ultimately derives from the Three Great Watchers, Anu, Enlil, and Enki. The other aspect of this fire is the ‘Abominations of Heaven’ or Tiamat. Interestingly, DinGir Inanna can also mean heaven. Tiamat is the Goddess Inanna in her exalted form. The darker side of the heavenly form in typified as DinGir Ereshkigal.

Tiamat is the heavenly form of fire connected to Kutulu. Notice what is mentioned in the SN’s Introduction:

“Therefore, the Goddess of the Witches has two distinct forms: the Ancient One, Goddess of the Dragon-like telluric Power which is raised in Magickal rituals, and the Elder Goddess, Defeater of Death, who brings the promise of Resurrection and Rejuvenation to her followers those who must reside for a time after death and between incarnations in what is called the “Summerland”.

Tiamat is described as the “Goddess of the Dragon-like telluric Power raised in magical rituals.” We raise this Dragon-like energy when we call the Watcher. Notice what is mentioned in the Magan Text:

“ERESHKIGAL roared and summoned NAMMTAR
The Magician NAMMTAR she called
But not for pursuit
But for protection.”

We see that the whole idea in Necronomicon Alchemy is to match the fire of heaven with that of the body.  This is revealed to us in the term BANDAR. We are told in the above passage that DinGir Ishtar bring the ‘promise of Ressurection and Rejuvenation to her followers.” This is evident in the Magan Text:

“And the Demons rose
And the Spirits of the Dead
And went with her out of the Gates
Looking neither right nor left
Walking in front and behind
They went with ISHTAR from the Gate of GANZIR
Out of the Netherworld they accompanied her”

The dead and the demons spoke of in the above passage refer to those who were faithful to the Goddess and ascend with her to the heights of heaven. But this is also a metaphor for the state of ascension experienced by those who are initiated and dwell in Cutha for a time. When we look at the above passage we see the following:

“Looking neither right nor left..Walking in front and behind”

This compares greatly to the instructions given to us by the Mad Arab:

“Seventh, thou must needs arrive back at the centre of the Gate, before thine altar, at which time thou must fall to the ground, looking neither to the right no to the left at what may be moving there,”

This indicates that the rejuvenation promised by the Goddess is also a metaphor as well as literal in some regards. According to the Sumer Aryan Dictionary by L. A. Waddell, the term BAN means ‘The Child-creating goddess –Venus.”  The term DAR is defined by Waddell as Adar, also Lord AZAG the Enchanter. Adar is the seventh gate in the Necronomicon initiation. He knows the ways of the Ancient Ones and of the Outside. It is at this position that the initiate can call or merge with the salt waters, also known as the greater heavens. It is with this that the waters can be as one and what was once seen by the Initiate as a multiverse has now become a manifestation of the primal source, a true lover of DinGir  Ishtar. The commentary on the Chaldean Oracles, as translated by Thomas Stanley, says the following:

The Magi that are followers of Zoroaster, as also many others, hold that the Human Soul is immortal; and descended from above to serve the mortal Body, that is, to operate therein for a certain time; and to Animate, and Adorn it to her power; and then returns to the place from which she came. And whereas there are many Mansions there for the Soul, one wholly-bright, another wholly dark, others betwixt both, partly-bright, partly-dark: The Soul, being descended from that which is wholly-bright, into the Body, if she perform her Office well, runs back into the same place; but if not well, she retires into worse Mansions, according to the things which she hath done in Life. The Oracle therefore sayeth, seek thou the Souls path, or the way by which the Soul flowed into thee; or by what course (viz of Life) having performed thy charge toward the Body, thou mayst Mount up to the same place from which thou didst flow down, viz. the same Track of the Soul, joyning action to sacred speech. By sacred speech, he understands that which concerns Divine Worship; by action, Divine Rites. The Oracle therefore sayeth, that to this Exaltation of the Soul, both speech concerning Divine Worship (Prayers,) and Religious Rites (Sacrifices) are requisite.”

This is where the value of esoteric prayer and the Oracle of Enheduanna find their most value.

“The Elder Gods evidently possessed a certain Wisdom that was not held by their Parents, yet their Parents held the Power, the Primal Strength, the First Magick, that the Elder Ones tapped to their own advantage, for they were begotten of Her.”

  1. This article is fantastic, Brother, and exactly what is needed right now! I am re-blogging and linking to Facebook! May the Dead Rise and Smell the Incense!

  2. The perfection of the character and spirit is our goal. We have part of the elders and of the ancient ones, that can be seen as the two polarities of the same energy. Our path is that of balance not pirging one aspect in post of the other. A true master of himself is not one that denies one part if himself championing the other but he who can act In true wisdom who can work one aspect or the other without been a slave of none. Great article and good insight. The liers In wait are lurking to sway us in false realities and setting In on convection. The Asaru is a true seeker not a religionists, a student of the sacred not a servant of traditions.
Hail the great Din Gir teachers of divinity
