Although ideas of a planetary retrograde often bring thoughts of dread and uncertainty among life’s children of the stars, these celestial periods of adjustment and reflection are necessary and can greatly improve our lives. On May 13th, 2020, Venus, the planet of love and pleasure will begin its retrograde at 21 degrees in the sign of Gemini until June 25the, 2020, when it goes direct at 5 degrees in Gemini.

For the next 43 days, we get the opportunity to look beyond the mechanicalness of our love lives and how we perceive having a good time for learning lessons in delving beneath the surface of our emotional habits. Venus goes retrograde once every two years. The last time Venus was retrograde in the sign of Gemini was in 1997. Individuals involved in weak romantic relationships will have the opportunity to see the cause of their superficial infatuation whether they like it or not. Certainly, the need to talk about emotional issues may arise.

Gemini is associated with communication, commerce, finances health, medical,  and travel, to name a few things. Some of us may hear from past lovers and may be reminded in some way, shape, or form of a lesson we learned in a prior relationship. A lot of things have changed since the last time Venus was retrograde in Gemini. Today, the human race has been challenged with a deadly virus known as COVID-19. The effects of the virus have been devastating, but interestingly enough, this retrograde may provide some insights into how to stop it or a sudden plunge in the numbers of people affected by its reach.

While many cities around the world are loosening up on a global shutdown, many people will feel the need to engage in impulsive buying, which has become so much easier with the advent of online shopping. Avoid frivolous spending at all costs. President Trump (a Gemini) may just find himself in some sort of scandal after all. However, the most important thing to remember and learn during this Venus retrograde is how to not take yourself so seriously. Peace!
