I had just downloaded The Sun featuring Slick Rick, Rza & Raekwnon. I am not sure why this was never released as a single or appeared on any other Wu albums, but I must say that this is vintage Rap Music period!
I think one of the things I have missed from the Wu of late is their poetic slang. I’ve heard glimpses of it here and there, but not like the old days. I guess everyone has to move on and evolve with each and every new experience.
The Sun is one of those bright Wu joints, which makes it even more of a collector’s item. The beat is like some real early 70’s soul and the lyrics are good because they make an analysis between the Sun in the sky and the Sun with knowledge of self. I think this is a definite buy for those who love some real good vintage Rap Music
