Is The Simon Necronomicon A Book Created By The Elder Gods?

“The Elder Gods evidently possessed a certain Wisdom that was not held by their Parents, yet their Parents held the Power, the Primal Strength, the First Magick, that the Elder Ones tapped to their own advantage, for they were begotten of Her.” – The Necronomicon by Simon

The value of the Simon Necronomicon and its alchemical treatise can be discerned by one particular passage of the tome that is often goes overlooked in terms of the subject at hand. In The Book of Calling, we find the following:

“This is the Book of the Ceremonies of Calling, handed down since the time the Elder Gods walked the Earth, Conquerors of the Ancient Ones.”

The words above inform us that the “Ceremonies of Calling” are rites received directly from the Elder Gods. one thing that many fail to consider is that a pantheon that has been beseeched by humanity may arise and some distant time in the future to interact with the same species that they developed a relationship. The contents and formatting of the Simon Necronomicon is completely in tune with ancient Mesopotamian thought. An example of this can be seen in Chaldean Magic by Francois Lenormant, we read:

“The Assyrians searched out and studied the old Accadian books as sacred books, but though this was an indispensable foundation of all sacerdotal studies, it does not prove that their liturgy was in the Accadian. Such religious hymns as we possess in the Accadian tongue are directly connected with the worship of the principal sanctuaries of Babylonia and Chaldea, and we see that they were used in the ceremonies of the particular sanctuary which they mention.”

While there has been much debate about the origins of the Simon Necronomicon, in the practitioner’s experience there is no doubt that authors of the Simon Necronomicon are the spirits themselves. Notice what is written the First Testimony of the Mad Arab:

“For this is the Book of the Dead, the Book of the Black Earth, that I have writ down at the peril of my life, exactly as I received it, on the planes of the IGIGI, the cruel celestial spirits from beyond the Wanderers of the Wastes.”

The above excerpt from the Simon tome was a deep mystery to me for a long time. I would often ask myself; how was the Mad Arab able to obtain the formulae for walking the Igigi before learning about the seven gates of initiation? Here is something that is very, very interesting. The reason why the Mad Arab is cited as receiving the formulas contained in the Book of the Black Earth while walking the planes of the Igigi is due to the fact that from an alchemical perspective, the Mad Arab represents each one of the seen spheres is various parts of his testimony! We have to remember that even the term Mad Arab in Enochian means your god that daughter of light, which is equivalent to saying a star. This is something that we will discuss in our next Necronomicon article in further detail. But for now, the Mad Arab assures us that the Simon Necronomicon is of divine origin:

“And when fire comes from the heavens, there wilt surely be panic among the people, and the Priest must calm them an take this book, of which he must make a copy in his own, and read the exorcisms therein that his people may not be harmed. For a sword will appear in the sky at those times, a signal to the Ancient Ones that One of Theirs has escaped and entered into this World. And it shall be an omen to thee that such a Spirit is abroad in the land, and must be found. And thou mayest send thy Watcher to the search, and it will be great destruction of cities, and fire will rain from the spheres, until the Elder Gods see your plight and will quell the uprising of the Ancient Ones with powerful Charms. But many will be lost to the Outside at that time.”
