Recently, I had the honor of interviewing the avant-garde sage woman and social media influencer Mind of Ro. Yet her persona still remains a mystery, as she is much more than that. Mind of Ro is a meditation instructor, psychic Kemetic Iyanifa & Yaya in Kimbanda .

Warlock Asylum: Before we begin, I just wanted to say thanks for taking a moment out of your time to answer a few questions and share a portion of your reality with our readers. Your spiritual work is phenomenal. How would you describe yourself? Who is the Mind of Ro?
The Mind of Ro: I describe myself as a straightforward but also playful, down-to-earth person. Besides all my spiritual stuff going on, I’m into art, poetry & the beauty industry.
Warlock Asylum: What were your formative years like? How did your environment as a child shape the person you are today?
Mind of Ro: I was abused a lot as a child and taken from my family by the state. So growing up was rough for me. Because of my hard childhood, I ran away from home at a young age, and was in the streets from age 15 until my mom passed in 2008. I decided to go to Cosmetology, then Business school and my life went uphill from there.
Warlock Asylum: A lot of people became familiar with your persona via YouTube videos and work as a spiritualist. What has your spiritual journey been like and how do you see yourself in relation to the unseen realms?
Mind of Ro: I started my theology journey in 2012. I’ve read about over 100 religions regarding their belief in the afterlife and spiritual world. I’ve read a few Holy books from different religions. It led me to Buddhism and meditation, where meditation brought me a lot of mental peace & self-discipline with regard to the way I think & perceive things. It then brought me to Kemeticism, which is my first love in occultism.
Warlock Asylum: How did you get involved in IFA?
Mind of Ro: I got involved in Ifa through an ex. My roommate Naalij introduced me to my ex, Khepra, who was a Kemetic priest & also Babalawo, who introduced me to Orisha & I’ve been loving Ifa & the Orisha ever since.
Warlock Asylum: What attracted you to Quimbanda? Do you see it separate from your work in IFA or contributing to it?
Mind of Ro: I got into Kimbanda because my King Exu approached me. A very obsessive cloaked spirit was stalking me, haunting my home & dreams. I read the book “Exu,” where it described the spirit following me, so I sought out a Tata on YouTube & went & got initiated. My experience with this Exu coming to me was an intense experience for me because he felt very physical. The physicalness of the spirits in Kimbanda amazes me. I also love the independence Kimbanda comes with because I do not like to be controlled.
Warlock Asylum: How has your life changed since your initiations in Ifa and Kimbanda?
Mind of Ro: I’m a domestic violence survivor, so let’s just say ever since I got initiated, no one has put their hands on me ever again.
Warlock Asylum: What inspired you to begin creating YouTube videos?
Mind of Ro: I started my YouTube channel way before I got into ATRs. I used to be an inspiring spiritual life coach & started my page to help people find their happiness because I had such a hard life & grew better instead of growing bitter. I wanted to help people heal from their past the way I did, & through time it grew into what it is now.
Warlock Asylum: Since it is a rare path, what advice would you give to someone looking for a teacher in Kimbanda?
Mind of Ro: When looking for any teacher in ATRs, I would say be careful. If your intuition tells you they can’t be trusted or they are dangerous, listen to your gut, or you’ll regret it. In regard to Kimbanda, ask if they are teaching the Congolese way because there are a lot of Terrieros that are not legit Congo.

To be mentored by me, you’ll need to be initiated and that starts with a reading. Other than that, my ancestral call is a free call to the public, always. A place where we talk about all kinds of, things- not only spiritual stuff, but also casual life experiences, etc. It’s a good place to get to know me before picking me as an elder. You should definitely get to know a mentor before jumping in with both feet, like getting initiated.
My last thought is to just be careful. There’s a lot of abusive priests out there. Do not underestimate anyone. Protect your energy always. Stay in Ire. Ase!
