Dear Facebook Woman, everybody’s got choices to make when they realize that we are just lies crying in the rain. You can’t wash away the blues of fate for a moment in time without being who you are. Inside I know there is pain, but don’t allow the thoughts of others to create distance in yourself. You know better than what you think you are. There is music in words and when the conversation stops, we play a new song. Praying for a better day is just another way of life. It makes us strong. Changes will come when the wind of what we hear sounds like the noise that happy children make on festive days. You don’t have to wait to say I love you. Text messages are not allowed at funeral homes. We listen to women like you when the birds sing on Sunday mornings. We listen to women like you when our mothers are no longer alive in this world. The umbilical cord that held us in their womb is now feeding them in the praise of a delightful memory.
Facebook Woman, when I look into your eyes I can see the sun rising in your dreams and the stars of heaven that fill the vase of your heart. You walk with dignity, knowing that in each and every experience you are the goddess who can just point to an innocent young man and straddle upon the beast without shedding a tear. Yet in still, you have chosen the path of dignity. Everybody’s got choices to make when they realize that we are just lies crying in the rain.
Facebook Woman, you are free to do as you please. Facebook Woman you know very well that when the heart and mind are clear the intent of your lover is not questioned. We are free to be who we are without the cares that society imposes on us. This frees us from making the mistake of thinking that making love is negotiated like a business deal. Honor the sexual bonds that brought you into this world, man and woman. The relationship of man and woman is how we got here. If you want to turn back the hands of time, take the time to enjoy the process of how you came into this world. Free your mind and you will find that as long as you are true to yourself in the pleasure you give, you will never feel exposed.
Facebook Woman, I just want write on your wall for a day. Walking through the responses that you give is the bird’s feather you have always noted in your path. It means that times are changing. When kept, it is a symbol of love made strong through the seasons and the storms. It reminds us of where we are in life. When I read your response, such are your words.
Facebook Woman, isn’t reading something like this a whole lot better than me just saying “hey beautiful?” We can write on each other’s walls until we walk into each other by accident, for mere sake of the coincidence is a sign of the world that we are both living in. Spontaneously, we run into Whole Foods and laugh at the prices. “Let’s run into Trader Joes barefooted!” While others look at us like weirdoes we know that being “strange” is also the edible candlewax that is licked off you back when hot. We are not pork-eaters so we both know that when the juices flow the taste is truly one of human ecstasy, but we’ll resist the act during the act as a form of foreplay. “Give me your hand!” We’ll leave the supermarket silently and spend the rest of the afternoon sharing a single cone of ice cream, enjoying what it means to be in love.
After you read this, close your eyes. After you read this close your eyes and imagine. Know that these are the dreams we had before birth. You’ll know when the Most High has called for it to occur when you see a feather in your path. Remember these words. One day we’ll run into each other by accident and you’ll show me the feather or we will find it while walking on the way of catching up, and then I’ll say:
“Everybody’s got choices to make when they realize that we are just lies crying in the rain. You can’t wash away the blues of fate for a moment in time without being who you are. Inside I know there is pain, but don’t allow the thoughts of others to create distance in yourself… Facebook Woman, when I look into your eyes I can see the sun rising in your dreams and the stars of heaven that fill the vase of your heart.”
