2021 Shamaness of the Year: Janel Longoria

In recent years, veneration for the Mexican folk saint eloquently known as Santa Muerte has risen in record numbers. Today, people from all walks of life have made a place in their hearts for Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte. Spiritualist and devotee Janel Longoria has developed a wonderful resource for both native and non-Mexican followers of the Bony Lady with her YouTube Channel and online store. Thousands of devotees enjoy her egoless approach and open-book experiences, which have provided many followers with essential knowledge about our Sacred Mother.

As a mother, wife, mentor, and friend, Janel works relentlessly to honor the practices and traditions associated with Santa Muerte. She is often admired for her sincere intent and trusted disposition. Back in May 2020, we had an excellent opportunity to hear from Janel and much of her wisdom in an in-depth interview. She has not only become a valuable member of the family but in many ways has become a trusted voice among Santa Muerte devotees and the world of spiritualism overall. It is with great honor that I am happy to announce Janel Longoria as the recipient of the Warlock Asylum International News 2021 Shamaness of the Year Award!
