Solar Eclipse by Cappadonna: A Great Album!

Veteran emcee and Wu-Tang Clan swordsman Cappadonna flows effortlessly on Solar Eclipse. The album was released on Cappadonna’s BornDay, September 18th, 2025. Solar Eclipse is comprised of nine tracks that provide a windowpane view of urban people’s struggle.

The album opens with a soulful track titled Another Dose, which features Killah Banshee. Produced by Digital Dice, the song’s chilling piano riff and downtempo beat prove to be the perfect recipe for Cappadonna’s witty and darkened view of reality’s ills. The “Killah Hill Preacher,” as Cappadonna boasts, takes pride in dropping jewels that all eyes can see and feel. Killah Banshee continues with a way out of the soul’s poverty through a knowledge of self. Backed by soulful harmonies, Another Dose will definitely spark your interest for more.

Solar Eclipse picks up the pace with a charismatic offering called Blind Leading The Blind. This is another Digital Dice production that hits the mark. The disco strings and moist drum pattern transport the listener to a mirror of creative bravado that sparks a pro-life agenda amid rough times. Blind Leading The Blind is one song that solidifies Solar Eclipse’s overall sound.

Heavenly comes next. Known as the Angel of Rap, Cappadonna has always sought to plant seeds of positivity across the most severe sonic landscapes. Cappadonna floats over the beat effortlessly. Cappadonna’s message of truth and sincerity bleeds into the edgy New York to Bmore, which features Prodigal Sunn, Lounge Lo & Addie Mak. Produced by Fantom of the Beats, this gritty collaboration is a modern classic, though not for the weary at heart.

The sunny “It’s Only Right” featuring Chedda Bang keeps the momentum of this album flowing at an optimal level. Bangavelli and Cashmere Brown post solid production for one of the album’s strongest songs. The celestial warmth of the groove is a perfect setting for a lovely episode between man and woman. Cappadonna and Chedda Bang’s verses are fitting and descriptive of the woman chasing folly at hand. No pauses are needed, but rewinds are more than welcome.

Psalms 200 is a proverbial essay on the destruction of the family and community, due to political corruption and superstition. The beat, crafted by Othello Beats X, provides a chunky sonicscape for a vicious cycle of boots-on-the-ground lyricism with meaning. Cappadonna’s commitment to flawlessness is superb, and the arrangement and strategy of the song are genius.

Chedda Bang appears again on Smoke Clears. This is a hard-hitting tune with awesome production that is hosted again by Bangavelli and Cashmere Brown. Cappadonna spits like he is in a lyrical shootout for emcee credibility.  Winner takes all as the action continues with Yall Know What I Mean. This is another slam dunk that is written to free your dome. Cappadonna shows that he still totes intelligence to the utmost degree.

The album concludes with Trick or Treat featuring High Noon. The song summarizes the daily struggle that is exemplified throughout the album. Solar Eclipse by Cappadonna is a true-to-life journey that perfectly mirrors our reality and also reveals the jewels needed to survive. Peace!
