

The month of May 2020 is a very excited time for earthlings, as we find that Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn have all gone retrograde in less than a week of each other. After covering what we can expect during the 2020 retrogrades of both Saturn and Venus in previous articles, let’s take a closer look at what this Jupiter retrograde will entail.
Commonly known as the planet of “good luck,” Jupiter began its retrograde on May 14th, 2020 at 27 degrees in Capricorn and will remain in its motion for 122 days before going direct on September 13th, 2020 at 17 degrees in Capricorn. As the planet of abundance and prosperity, Jupiter tends to grant blessings in either direction. However, we can be certain that this retrograde will provide us with the opportunity to go within ourselves and discover ways in which we may be blocking long and overdue abundance.
Jupiter’s retrograde will afford us the opportunity to see the value and inculcate a much broader range of practicality into our lives. Earth signs will be especially be effected. Another interesting featured about this retrograde in particular is that the Sun will trine Jupiter and Pluto on May 17th 2020. This aspect will certainly plant seeds of good luck that we can expect to be harvested when Jupiter turns direct. One note of caution that should be mentioned is that Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn may often test, or more appropriately, challenge our moral code. Making the best of Jupiter’s retrograde has a lot to do with maintaining virtue.
2020 offers three rare conjunctions between Jupiter and Pluto. Two of these will occur while Jupiter is n retrograde. Jupiter’s first conjunction with Pluto took place on April 4, 2020 at 25 degrees of Capricorn with both Jupiter and Pluto moving direct, and on June 30, 2020 they will form their second conjunction at 25 degrees of Capricorn with both Jupiter and Pluto moving retrograde. At a time when both planets are moving direct, they will form their final conjunction of the series on November 12, 2020 at 23 degrees of Capricorn.
Jupiter conjunct Pluto will provide us with the energy and opportunities to transform our lives, especially in the areas of career and wealth. However, karma can act swiftly if our motivations are inspired from greed or the mishandling of newfound power. Therefore, we definitely would want to also draw attention to how we are cultivating ourselves spiritually.
